Our team’s mission: healthy ageing is about thriving, not just surviving

Rethinking what it means to age well in Australia today

Many believe healthy ageing is only about keeping diseases at bay or slowing down inevitable decline. Our team challenges this notion. We believe ageing well means embracing change, seeking fulfillment, and supporting one another with science-backed habits, all within the context of real, everyday lives.
We bring together health professionals, researchers, and advocates who are passionate about enabling older adults to thrive. Our approach is rooted in respect, dignity, and the understanding that everyone’s journey through ageing is unique. Our mission is to make practical, trustworthy knowledge accessible to all.

We focus on holistic wellness, not just avoiding illness or decline.

Our team blends evidence-based methods with empathy and respect for every individual.

We value collaboration—with families, professionals, and our vibrant community.

What we stand for

Supporting autonomy for every individual

Empowerment is at the core of our work. We believe that each person deserves access to tools, support, and information that help them shape their own ageing journey, rather than just adapting to circumstances.

Evidence and integrity, always at the centre

We are committed to trustworthiness and reliability. Our team draws from up-to-date research, lived experience, and ongoing collaboration to deliver resources that truly help, not just sound promising.

The principles that guide our everyday work

Respect each person’s individuality, background, and values at every step.

Promote autonomy by supporting informed choices and shared decision-making.

Encourage connections between generations, families, and communities.

Prioritise evidence, transparency, and honest communication in all we do.

From a small idea to a collaborative movement—how our project continues to evolve alongside the needs of Australia’s ageing population.

2018

A new conversation begins

It started with a simple question: what if ageing could be about more than just medical check-ups and medication? In 2018, a small group of health professionals came together to rethink how we support older adults in Australia, putting the spotlight on well-being, purpose, and inclusion.

Building and testing our approach

Our early years saw us running small group sessions, gathering feedback, and refining our philosophy. By 2020, we developed a methodology based on collaborative planning, scientific reviews, and real-world feedback from older Australians and their families. This foundation guides us today.

Growing, sharing, adapting together

In 2023, our network expanded to include a range of allied health specialists, community partners, and local advocates. We prioritised accessibility, launching online tools and resources so more people could benefit from a holistic approach to ageing. Our commitment is ongoing, as we adapt and grow alongside our community.
